There are more than 100 different types of arthritis that affects different people in different ways. Generally speaking arthritis is accompanied with swelling, stiffness, and pain normally in joints. There are three primary forms which are Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), Psoriatic Arthritis and Osteoarthritis.

RA is an autoimmune disease where the body attacks joints causing inflammation and pain in those areas. Psoriatic arthritis is an inflammation of joints and skin, typically on the tips of knees and elbows. Osteoarthritis occurs when cartilage breaks down over time causing bones to rub together.

Most treatments include non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication (NSAIDS) as well as opiates and other narcotics for pain management. There are many inherent dangers with using NSAIDS and narcotics, ranging from addiction, gastrointestinal ailments, nausea, vomiting and in extreme cases death.
